@ Melissa- <3 you!! I am doing as well as can be expected. Next surgery will be in October, so I am focusing all my energy on being as well as I can and living life :) Couldn't agree more that VixiBars are a great addition and option.

@ MJ-So glad you like the Quest bars! I am waiting to try their new flavors which are supposed to be released soon, and then eventually I will do a whole post review on them. Try the Vixi's, you'll like them.

May have to try these (so many flavors!), since based on your rec I tried the Quest bars and really like them. It's SO great that more allergen-free products are starting to come to market through small businesses (which I'm happy to support - they're usually far more concerned with actually taking care of their customers!). Thanks, hope your recovery is going well.

Erin,

Yes, you are weird, but in a really good way. Charmingly so!

This little bar sounds like a good addition to the GF bar world. Dates, almonds and cherries are favorites of mine. I love the packaging. Very cute. Good name as well. If Kate didn't do the design work herself, she picked someone with lots of talent to help her.

Hope you're doing well. I think of you often! Hang in there.

xo

@ Amanda-Couldn't agree more. These are a bit more substantial than a Larabar, and the extra protein does help make it more of a reasonable snack option.

Hey my Kims :)
I am recovering well from this last surgery. The next surgery will not be until October. My orthopedist is researching some new possibilities for the repair, but is speaking with some other surgeons first. The most disturbing thing is that the new damage is not on a weight bearing surface of the knee (which is good and means I'm not making it worse by walking on it) but also means that there is no real reason why it is happening. My cartilage is just shearing off for no apparent reason, which of course means you can't fix the problem. That's the frustrating part.

Anyway-Kim-too funny about Kate and your brother! It is truly a small world. She is a very nice person in addition to being the smartest for getting the whey protein and fruit and nut bar together ;)

Oh, it's so nice to hear that there's something like a Larabar that has some more nutritional benefits. Larabars are nice, but they're not really that good for a meal replacement to me. I think they really do need to have something that is more substantial and satisfying. These would be great on a plane trip. Girl cannot live on Larabars alone!
